Q1.What is cellular concrete?

A1. Cellular concrete is a cement based lightweight material in which air cells are equally distributed and form at least 20% of the volume.

Q2.What is the right proportion water/dry mix to get the right suspension?

A2. The general rule is 0.6 (60 litres of water to 100 kg CFC dry mix). The actual proportion water/CFC dry mix varies from 30 to 90 litres of water for each 100 kg CFC depending on the specific requirements of the project.

Q3.Are there any requirements to the quality of the water?

A3. No restrictions exist for drinking water, technical water should be checked first.

Q4.What is the right temperature of the water?

A4. Cold water from the water tap is suitable.

Q5.What is the strength and the volume weight of Cellular Fibro Concrete?

A5. These two measurements are interconnected. The less the volume weight gets, the strength decreases, the thermal resistance however increases. In a CFC production plant it is possible to produce mixtures from 300 kg/m3 to 1600 kg/m3. For example cellular concrete with volume weight of 600 kg/m3 has strength greater than 25 kg/cm2.

Q6.What type of cement is suitable for cellular concrete?

A6. Cellular Fibro Concrete can be produced from any type of portland cement. Working specifications of the type CEM I or CEM II are applicable.

Q7.What are the advantages of implementing cellular concrete?

A7. Cellular concrete is much lighter than regular concrete. Standard regular concrete has volume weight of 2400 - 2800 kg/m3 while cellular concrete has volume weight in the range from 300 kg/m3 to 1600 kg/m3.

Q8.Are there any other methods for production of cellular cioncre?

A8. Yes there are. Most popular is the autoclave cellular concrete «YTONG». Another outstanding material is the cellular concrete of the German company «NEOPOR». In both cases however the method for production is completely different from ours and thus some properties of the materials differ.

Q9.Are there other manufacturers of dry mixes for cellular concrete?

A9. Up to date our company is the only supplier of the technology for production of cellular concrete from a dry mix.

Q13.How cellular concrete is prepared out of the CFC dry mix?

A13. The dry mix is mixed in the concrete mixer, mortar-mixer or in a simple bucket, using a hand-held mixer for preparing plaster. After short mixing (practically just moistening) the mixture can be transported. A pump is the most widely used means of transportation.

Q15.Is there a restriction in the distance for transporting (pumping over) of the cellular concrete?

Q17.How cellular concrete compares to regular concrete in its price?

A17. As a general rule cellular concrete is cheaper than regular concrete. The price comparison is not quite relevant however, because cellular concrete fulfills a different function.

Q18.Is cellular concrete the same thing as lightweight concrete?

A18. Cellular concrete is lighter than typical "lightweight" concrete.

Q19.Is cellular concreted applicable in sea moorings?

A19. Low density cellular concrete is water resistant and is very good for construction of tongue-and-groove board railings and backfills.

Q20.Is it worth to strengthen cellular concrete with synthetic fibers?

A20. Synthetic fibers are already present in the composition of Cellular Fibro Concrete, as the word Fibro implies, which serve the function of additional armoring of the material.

Q21.Is it possible to strengthen cellular concrete with concrete steel or mesh?

A21. As the material possesses perfect adhesive properties, there are no restrictions for using steel armor or mesh. Moreover after considerably long exploitation it has been proven that the armor used in cellular concrete has not suffered from corrosion.
